🧭 Welcome to Standing Square

This isn’t a tech lab. It’s a learning nook.
A place for curious people who want to understand modern tools—without losing themselves in the noise.

About Vicki

I’m an Associate Professor Emeritus of Computer Information Systems, with over two decades of experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. I helped design a Master’s program in Computer Information Systems with an emphasis on Enterprise Systems, and taught advanced courses in Database Development, Ecommerce Applications, and Business Intelligence.

More than anything, I loved teaching—and I especially loved advising my students. Walking alongside them as they found their way in tech was the most rewarding part of my job.

I hold a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems, an MBA in Information Systems, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics. I’m also an SAP Certified Associate in Business Process Integration with SAP ERP (TERP10). Earlier in my career, I served as a Technology Coordinator and an Adult Basic Educator, helping individuals build confidence with technology at every level.

Whether in classrooms or community spaces, I’ve always believed technology should empower—not intimidate.

💬 Why I Created Standing Square

I’ve seen brilliant people shrink when a new tool launches.

I’ve seen educators, ministers, parents, and creators wonder if they’re falling behind.

This site is my response. It’s a small digital space where:

  • 🟢 You can try before committing
  • 🟢 You can stay curious without being overwhelmed
  • 🟢 You can ask “Is this for me?” and get a real answer

I believe learning new tools doesn’t have to feel like a firehose.
Sometimes all you need is someone to sit beside you and say, “Let’s try this together.”
